ACTIVE 2.1 - Relief for intervertebral discs and sit bones
The special active construction of the saddle allows the pelvis to move in a horizontal plane. This ensures the performance of the so-called pelvic swing - as in natural walking.
In the Sport 2.1 version, the active connection has not only become lighter, but also much smoother. This increases comfort for the sit bones as well as relieving pressure on the intervertebral discs. In particular, the mobilization of the intervertebral discs is now clearly noticeable. Thanks to smaller elastomers, the active movement is also even more adjustable.
ERGOWAVE® - Performance enhancement through perfect ergonomics
The Ergowave® saddle shape is the result of an SQlab research project in collaboration with the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Frankfurt University Hospital, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
On the basis of calculations that recorded the forces occurring between the human being and the bicycle saddle down to the deepest structures of the body, a design was developed that achieved absolute best values below the maximum load limits in all tests and enables a sporty sitting position on both road bikes and MTBs.
The perfect fit | A prerequisite for maximum performance is the perfect fit for the athlete. Accordingly, depending on the saddle model, different widths are available from 12 to 16 cm wide.
Sporty rear end | The raised rear end results in more rearward support and ensures more efficient power transmission.
Energy-saving | The wave-shaped elevation of the Ergowave® saddles stretching from the rear to the front perfectly matches the shape of the mostly bulbous ischial branches. The rider does not have to adopt any energy-consuming protective postures. All the energy is available for propulsion.
Lowered saddle nose | The saddle nose, which is lower in level, puts less pressure on sensitive areas. For both men and women.
Biomechanics | The SQlab active technology's lateral pelvic movement of up to 7°, which is similar to walking from a biomechanical point of view, increases the efficiency of the pedaling movement. At the same time, the intervertebral discs are relieved and the comfort at the sit bones is increased.
Chassis setup | The proven SQlab active technology has been tuned tighter for the application range Road and MTB Race and is additionally adjustable via elastomers in three degrees of hardness.
The Dip | The slight depression in the middle of the saddle reduces pressure on the sensitive structures of the perineal area.
Deep and flat | The flat only very slightly curved shape of the saddle nose results in a maximum contact surface with correspondingly little pressure. As a result, the nose is at the same time very narrow and the lateral friction during the pedaling movement is reduced to a minimum. This MaxContact® called shape has already proven itself in some other race models in recent years and has been implemented even more consistently for the Ergowave® series.
